Orchestra of Burkina Faso Captivates Moscow Audience at Spasskaya Tower Festival


Moscow: The Orchestra of the Presidency of Faso captivated the Moscow audience with its performance at the 17th Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival. The orchestra amazed attendees during the opening ceremony and continued to impress with a parade at VDNKH Park, the All-Russian Center, on Saturday, August 23.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the orchestra’s second appearance in the Russian capital highlighted Burkina Faso’s artistic and cultural potential. The Moscow crowd responded enthusiastically, with some dancing and others chanting “Burkina Faso.” The Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Pingdwend© Gilbert OUEDRAOGO, praised the orchestra for promoting traditional Burkinabe values through a blend of modern and traditional instruments.



Minister OUEDRAOGO emphasized that Burkina Faso’s participation in the festival strengthens cooperation between the Russian Federation and Burkina Faso. The orchestra of the Presidency of Faso is set to perform in Moscow, offering a varied repertoire that includes renowned artists such as Georges OUEDRAOGO, Joseph SALAMBO, and Manu DIBANGO.
