The public primary school of Gana in the rural commune of Doulougou, province of Bazèga celebrated its 50 years of existence on Saturday December 16 , 2023. Tributes, testimonies and recognition marked the highlights of this commemoration. The village of Gana in the rural commune of Doulougou, province of Bazèga experienced a festive atmosphere on the occasion of the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the public primary school of the said village under the theme: ’50 years of knowledge provided to the service development and outreach of the community››. This celebration of the golden jubilee placed under the patronage of the minister in charge of national education André Joseph Ouédraogo, is an initiative of forming students of the school in collaboration with the community of the village of Gana. According to Pato Dondassé, a former student and president of the organizing committee for the school’s fiftieth anniversary, the commemoration of this anniversary aims to pay vibrant tribute to our former teachers as well as to the new team for the sacrifices made for the benefit of thousands of children of the village and surrounding villages. For the president of the special delegation of the commune of Doulougou Modeste Ouédraogo, the Gana school since its creation in 1972, has contributed to forging executives in numerous sectors of activity in public administration, international institutions, the private sector as well as in the world of NGOs and development associations. Sylvain Nana, one of the very first teachers of the school, looked back on the difficult conditions of the time but did not fail to note the efforts made by the teaching team to make their students executives. Today. Present at this ceremony, Minister André Joseph Ouédraogo paid vibrant tribute to the former teachers as well as to the new team of the public primary school of Gana for their courage and self-sacrifice at work to make children from the locality executives serving Burkina. On this occasion, he invited parents to send girls to school. This commemoration was marked by several cultural and sporting activities and the presentation of certificates of recognition and school kits. Opened in 1972 with 3 classrooms then standardized to 6 classes in 1986-1987, the Gana public primary school has to date more than 4,900 students since its creation.
