Boulgou: Meeting at the initiative of the President of the special delegation (PDS) of Zabr©, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, the representatives of the vital forces of the commune adopted a roadmap aimed at improving solid waste management and strengthening public awareness, in order to prevent public health risks linked to insalubrity.
According to Burkina Information Agency, following the observation of growing insalubrity in the commune of Zabr©, the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the said commune, Alain Boubi© Bassono, invited, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, all the active forces to the meeting room of the town hall, in order to find sustainable solutions to the poor management of solid waste.
The meeting took place in the presence of, among others, the traditional chieftaincy, representatives of the Village Development Committees (CVD), associations working in the field of sanitation, traders, and civil society organizations (CSOs).
Following the discussions, several commitments were made. Two local associations decided, with the support of the local authority, to resume solid waste collection activities. The traders, for their part, have committed to making and installing garbage bins on business premises by September 3, 2025.
A radio program will also be broadcast on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, to raise awareness among the public about their responsibilities in terms of sanitation. On Thursday, August 28, 2025, a field trip will be organized to mobilize local residents around the issues related to insalubrity.
The active forces also expressed the wish that coercive measures be applied by the town hall against offenders, once the awareness-raising phase is over. In welcoming these commitments, the PDS thanked all stakeholders for their availability and their willingness to work for the general interest and the improvement of the living conditions of the people of Zabr©.
