Burkina Faso Forces Achieve Major Victory Over Terrorists in Foutouri

Foutouri: The fighting forces based in Foutouri, in eastern Burkina Faso, inflicted a memorable defeat this Wednesday morning on a horde of terrorists who attempted to invade their detachment. In total, around a hundred criminals were killed, including two senior officers, namely Abou Souleymane and Abdoul BSdre.

According to Burkina Information Agency, early in the morning of August 20, 2025, approximately 600 terrorists attacked the Foutouri detachment in successive waves, with the aim of wreaking havoc and taking control of the base. However, these attackers underestimated the determination and courage of the fighting forces.

From the very beginning of the counteroffensive, the Combatant Forces shot down a suicide drone with its munitions, before crushing the terrorist. Seeing their commanders on the ground, the attackers realized the game was lost and attempted to retreat. The patriots maintained their firepower and managed to neutralize about 100 terrorists and wound another 100.

The counterattack also resulted in the seizure of weapons of war, including assault rifles, motorcycles, and PKM machine guns.

This victory made it possible to incapacitate two terrorist leaders known to intelligence services for their role in planning and carrying out attacks. This is the major terrorist cadre Abdoul BSdre, a Koranic master responsible for brainwashing new recruits and ritual animal sacrifices for the success of terrorist operations.

Abu Suleyman, one of the terrorist movement’s most influential leaders, was also neutralized. This sinister individual held several strategic positions. Indeed, he was the sole terrorist authority authorized to release hostages or grant permission to fighters. Abu Suleyman also oversaw the collection of goods, financial management, and food supplies. During travel, he issued passes guaranteeing free movement to supporters of their cause.

The Battle of Foutouri on 20 August 2025 confirmed the determination of the Combatant Forces to reconquer the entire national territory and to work for the return of peace, security, and social cohesion.
