Ouagadougou: Alino Faso, known by his real name Alain Christophe Traor©, was laid to rest in the Gounghin municipal cemetery after passing away under troubled circumstances in C´te d’Ivoire on July 24, 2025. His burial, which took place this Saturday, was marked by national dignity and gratitude from the Burkinabe people.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Alino Faso’s remains were received with emotion on Monday, August 18, 2025, followed by an evening of tribute on Thursday, August 21. The nation came together to honor his memory, with moving testimonies from friends and collaborators highlighting his altruistic nature and dedication to helping others.
Rassa Compaor©, a friend of the deceased, shared that Alino was always there for others, emphasizing the importance of accompanying him to his final resting place. She expressed hope that he would be remembered for his generosity and humanitarian efforts, including assisting internally displaced people and supporting widows and orphans.
Serge Poda, another close friend and collaborator, described Alino Faso as a unifying figure who was always available to help others. He encouraged others to embrace Alino’s legacy of generosity and love for Burkina Faso.
Ismaila Zongo, also known as Papus Zongo, reflected on Alino Faso’s dynamic personality and his impact across various fields, including humanitarian, media, and artistic communities. He noted that Alino’s work extended beyond Burkina Faso, as he was loved and respected by many.
The procession began with the lifting of Alino Faso’s remains at the Bogodogo morgue, followed by a service at St. Camille Church for absolution and blessings. The ceremony was attended by relatives, friends, colleagues, and Burkinabe citizens, all gathered to pray for his peaceful rest.
Noura Traor©, Alino Faso’s younger sister, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Traor© family for the support received from the people of Burkina Faso. She highlighted the values her brother embodied, such as truth, justice, and solidarity, urging others to continue living by these principles to honor his legacy.
