Fada n’gourma: The Secretary General of the Gulmu region, Siaka Ouattara, presided over a solemn national flag raising ceremony in Fada N’Gourma as part of the 65th anniversary celebrations of Burkina Faso’s independence. The event, held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, called upon citizens to embrace the future with ambition, confidence, and determination.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was attended by various bodies, including administrative, customary, military, and paramilitary authorities. The hoisting of the national flag served as a powerful symbol of unity and sovereignty for the Burkinabe people. During the event, Siaka Ouattara delivered a message from the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, emphasizing the importance of understanding the nation’s history, cultural diversity, and unity.
Siaka Ouattara urged citizens to take control of their destiny and that of Burkina Faso, highlighting the struggles of past leaders who fought for national emancipation. He called for ambition, confidence, and determination in building a prosperous, free, and resilient Burkina Faso. Ouattara expressed confidence that with hard work, a sense of duty, and a shared desire for success, the nation would overcome future challenges.
The ceremony also renewed the commitment of the Gulmu people to the ideals of peace, freedom, and development for a united Burkina Faso.
