Joanny Sawadogo Appointed Head of Bam’s Provincial Association of Traders


Bam: Traders in Bam province have unanimously chosen entrepreneur Joanny Sawadogo to lead their umbrella organization, following the death of former president Adama Ou©draogo, known as OA, AIB has learned.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the information relating to the appointment of Mr. Sawadogo was communicated on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, to the High Commissioner of the province of Bam, Karim Ou©draogo, by a delegation from the Provincial Association of Traders. This consensual designation reflects the desire of the economic actors of Bam to strengthen their cohesion to better meet the challenges facing the sector.



Joanny Sawadogo is recognized for his commitment to private initiative and will now have the mission of uniting traders around a common vision of prosperity and solidarity. The Bam High Commissioner praised the unity of the traders and urged them to support the new president in carrying out his mission, in the service of local development.



During this meeting, the delegation also expressed its gratitude to the provincial authorities and the population for their strong mobilization and their multiple supports during the funeral of the former president, Adama Ou©draogo known as OA. As a reminder, Adama Ou©draogo, known as OA, died on July 15, 2025, in Ouagadougou following a brief illness. He was buried on July 17, 2025, in Kongoussi.
