Kadiogo/Police Academy: New Leadership Aims for Discipline and Innovation


Kadiogo: Police Divisional Commissioner Abdoulaye Belem was installed this Thursday as Director General of the National Police Academy by the Minister of Security. He replaced Police Divisional Commissioner Oumarou Sogn©, who had held the position for 39 months.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the National Police Academy holds significant importance as it trains individuals responsible for citizen safety, public peace, and maintaining order. Commissioner Belem emphasized the academy’s role as a strategic institution vital for the country’s stability and development.



Commissioner Belem stated the necessity of a professional, honest, and disciplined police force that upholds human rights to ensure lasting security. He plans to lead with a focus on work, discipline, rigor, and innovation.



As a reminder, Divisional Police Commissioner Abdoulaye Belem was appointed Director of the National Police School by the Council of Ministers on June 30, 2025.
