Koupela: The Youth, Population and Development Association in Burkina Faso (AJPOD/BF), during its solidarity day, offered food to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and school supplies to destitute students this Saturday, September 20, 2025, in Koupela. This was chaired by the High Commissioner of Kourittenga Province, Moctar Ilboudo, representing the Governor of the Nakambe region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Youth, Population and Development Association in Burkina Faso (AJPOD/BF) held the 17th edition of its solidarity day under the theme: “Solidarity and Social Cohesion.” AJPOD/BF donated food, including bags of corn and rice, to IDPs and provided school supplies to deprived students.
“We received food and school supplies for the students, and this shows that we are not left to our own devices in the situation we are facing. This really comforts us, so we express our gratitude to the AJPOD association for this gesture that helps ease our suffering,” said one of the beneficiaries, Eugene Zoungrana.
Inoussa Sare, the sponsor and Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the NGO RENAIDS, emphasized the importance of such initiatives as a reminder for citizens to contribute to current challenges. He acknowledged the efforts of AJPOD/BF over the past 17 years and encouraged continued support from various partners.
Ahmed Wangre, president of the AJPOD/BF association, highlighted that this gesture was meant to show solidarity with the poor and offer them support. Wangre expressed that the joy of the beneficiaries motivates the association to continue their efforts for the wellbeing of the population.
High Commissioner Moctar Ilboudo praised the initiative and encouraged other NGOs and associations to join in providing comfort to vulnerable people in Kourittenga province and beyond.
