This event marked a significant milestone in the region’s efforts towards food sovereignty as part of an agro-pastoral initiative.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Gu©sb©ogo Integrated Development Association (ADIG) in Namentenga province successfully completed its first 6-month cycle of catfish farming. This activity was a key component of the broader agro-pastoral offensive aimed at enhancing food sovereignty in Burkina Faso.

ADIG President Blaise Sandouidi highlighted that the catfish production project received financial support from the German association Menchen Ohne Ketten. The project has provided an opportunity for internally displaced persons in the province to engage in productive activities.

This first successful harvest is expected to bolster local food resources and provide a sustainable livelihood for those involved in the fish farming venture.
