Mouhoun: The courtyard of the Ouarkoye Medical Center underwent a thorough cleaning during a citizen-led operation spearheaded by Dr. Emmanuel W. Kadsondo, the head physician of the center, in collaboration with Issouf Sangare, the president of the Management Committee (COGES). The event, held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, saw significant participation from the local community, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, this operation marks the third such initiative requested by health officials to enhance the medical center’s environment. It underscores the commitment of local stakeholders to work collectively in a context of resilience. The primary goal is to ensure a clean and secure environment for both health workers and patients, while also fostering community unity around public health concerns.
The involvement of the FDS and VDP, beyond their usual security roles, highlights their crucial participation in community and social activities. This engagement with local authorities and residents demonstrates a shared commitment to nurturing patriotism through community development and sanitation efforts.
Dr. Emmanuel W. Kadsondo expressed gratitude to all participants for their dedication and civic responsibility. He emphasized the importance of maintaining this collaborative approach, seeing it as vital for achieving sustainable and inclusive development within the municipality. Dr. Kadsondo concluded by noting that such initiatives reveal that patriotism can be equally expressed through security efforts and community development.
