Bobo-dioulasso: The president of the Special Delegation of the commune of Bobo-Dioulasso, Mr. Laurent K. Kontogom, officially launched the presidential initiative Faso Mebo on Saturday in the districts of the city, in the presence of local officials and mobilized populations. The launching ceremony began in district 6, with a follow-up tour of districts 7, 2, 3, 4, and 1 to ensure smooth progress.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Laurent K. Kontogom emphasized the initiative’s goal to accelerate the paving and beautification of the city’s streets for visible results in the near future. He urged residents to participate actively by contributing to the ongoing efforts to transform the streets in the districts.
In district 7, the population’s mobilization was acknowledged by Mr. Souleymane Sanon, president of the Special Delegation of the district. Residents gathered early in the morning to initiate the work, with sectors 21, 22, and 29 uniting for the launch. Mr. Sanon encouraged continued participation beyond the official start.
Citizen Watch also supported the initiative, with Mr. Salifou Ouedraogo from the National Coordination emphasizing civic engagement’s importance. He highlighted that sincere work on Faso Mebo would enhance the country’s beauty and livability, attracting international visitors.
Faso Mebo, meaning ‘build my homeland’, is a presidential initiative focused on rebuilding Burkina Faso with significant population involvement.
