Sanguie Celebrates Academic Excellence with 94 Provincial Winners in Reo


Reo: The Place de la Nation in Reo hosted the provincial ceremony of academic excellence for Sanguie, presided over by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Ma®tre Edasso Rodrigue Bayala. This event, themed “Promoting excellence in schools in the Sanguie province: a civic commitment to train patriotic leaders,” marked its second edition by honoring 94 winners from varied educational levels.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the Reo special delegation, Sindi Issaka Zagre, expressed the municipality’s pride in hosting the ceremony, highlighting it as a symbol of merit recognition and work well done. Zagre praised the dedication of teachers, students, and all education stakeholders, affirming the municipality’s support for initiatives benefiting schools.



The chair of the organizing committee, Talari Germaine Ouoba, who also serves as the High Commissioner of Sanguie, extended gratitude to all partners, sponsors, authorities, and active provincial forces for their support. She noted the ceremony, termed the “education festival,” aimed to celebrate diligence and perseverance. Ouoba reported that 94 winners were rewarded, comprising 47 learners, 23 teachers, 3 supervisors, 5 partners, and 5 educational structures.



Provincial directors in charge of education announced that the 2025 session recorded success rates of 82.14% in the CEP, 48.75% in the BEPC, and 67.62% in the BAC, with Sanguie ranking 3rd in the CEP, 1st in the BEPC, and 2nd in the BAC in the Nando region.



On behalf of the sponsors, Hubert Yameogo congratulated the winners and acknowledged the efforts of teachers and parents. He encouraged students to remain disciplined and committed to excellence, while reiterating the sponsors’ support for initiatives promoting academic success in the province.



In his address, Ma®tre Edasso Rodrigue Bayala lauded the winners for their achievements and resilience, and paid tribute to the teachers and parents for their indispensable role in educational success. He commended the Defense and Security Forces along with the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland for ensuring that no school closures occurred in Sanguie. The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing educational conditions and encouraged students to maintain their discipline and perseverance.



The ceremony concluded in a celebratory atmosphere, featuring prize presentations to the winners, acknowledgments of educational contributors, and artistic performances celebrating merit and achievement.
