Boulgou: The Union of Traders and Related Workers of Tenkodogo (UCAT) organized, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, in Tenkodogo, a day of tribute, recognition, and thanks in honor of the economic actors of the Nakamb© region. The ceremony was presided over by the governor of the region, Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, and under the patronage of the Director General of the Postal Bank of Burkina Faso, Inoussa Boundaon©.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the economic actors of the Nakamb© region were honored on this day by UCAT. The region’s governor, Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, addressed the resilience and dynamism of traders amidst numerous challenges, while emphasizing their vital role in both local and national economies. He also commended the former officials of the Centre-East Chamber of Commerce and Industry, now known as the Nakamb© Patronage, for establishing solid foundations for current and future generations.
Colonel Lamizana praised the current office, led by Prince Akim Minoungou, for its foresight and strong connection with ground-level actors. The sponsor of the event, Inoussa Boundaon© from the Postal Bank of Burkina Faso, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in his institution and highlighted the bank’s efforts to bring financial services closer to the population, including traders, artisans, farmers, and SMEs. Mr. Boundaon© encouraged economic actors in Nakamb© to unite for the growth of a strong, prosperous, and inclusive region.
Alaji Sana Kabiro, president of UCAT, highlighted that the day aimed to strengthen cohesion among traders and economic actors in the region. He noted that the initiative, previously on hold, allows for paying tribute to the elderly and reinforcing solidarity. Mr. Kabiro called for unity, collaboration, and solidarity to address current challenges and contribute to national development. He acknowledged the efforts of the organizing committee, merchants, partners, and alumni in making the event successful, expressing gratitude to sponsors and supporters of this inaugural edition despite challenges.
The event was marked by expressions of gratitude and calls for solidarity from the daughters and sons of Nakamb©. Administrative authorities and economic partners present reaffirmed their commitment to supporting traders’ initiatives, aiming to make trade a significant driver of development and social cohesion in the region.
