Bobo-dioulasso: The peace of the residents of sector 26 of Bobo-Dioulasso was disturbed this Friday by the presence of a stray elephant, which sowed panic in the neighborhood before being shot, several sources report.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the visibly disoriented animal attracted a crowd of curious onlookers who came to observe and film it. Despite several attempts to repel it, the elephant became aggressive and charged the local residents.
“We tried every way we could to get it to leave. But given the danger to the population, the only solution was to shoot it, despite ourselves,” explained Lieutenant Colonel Hassime Rabo, regional director of Water and Forests in Guiriko.
