Yalgo: The staff of the Yalgo District Police Station, scheduled to disengage on August 22, 2025, distributed food and basic necessities to vulnerable host and displaced populations in the commune on Thursday morning.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this distribution aligns with the government’s plan to redeploy police to urban areas and the gendarmerie to rural regions, leading to the withdrawal of the Yalgo (Namentenga) police station. As a prelude to this departure, the police commissioner and his team organized a donation ceremony at the Yalgo town hall. The event was attended by municipal authorities, heads of technical services, customary and religious leaders, and representatives of youth, women, and traders.
The donations included ten 25 kg bags of rice, twenty blankets, twenty buckets, twenty kettles, forty soap balls, and fifty sachets of detergent. During the ceremony, the police station staff expressed gratitude and appreciation from the entire police hierarchy to the local population for their support over the years.
