The Zak La Yilguemdé and Teel-Taaba associations in collaboration with the Permanent Secretariat of Non-Governmental Organizations (SPONG) initiated, on Tuesday , in Guiba (Zoundwéogo province), a forum theater to raise awareness among populations about good practices in inclusive breastfeeding, nutrition and vaccination. The Guiba market (Zoundwéogo Province) vibrated on Tuesday evening to the rhythm of dances, songs and cheers around the members of the Delwendé theater troupe. The actors of the troupe were at this place of human concentration for stage performances on the themes of inclusive breastfeeding, nutrition and mother/child vaccination. The activity which saw the presence of health, administrative and customary authorities and members of associations is an initiative of the associations Zak La Yilguemdé (AZLY) and Teel-Taaba in collaboration with the Permanent Secretariat of Non-Governmental Organizations (SPONG) and with the financial support of UNICEF. It is part of the actions of the ‘community monitoring project to improve access of vulnerable groups to health services’. ‘As part of the activities of the community monitoring project, we have set up health monitoring committees which are responsible for collecting data on the difficulties of communities in accessing health services and carrying out advocacy and dissemination actions. interpellation with decision-makers at the local level and with communities. This is what motivated the holding of this awareness campaign,’ said the project manager ‘community monitoring for improving access of vulnerable groups to health services’ at the SPONG level, Nadine Diao. . Concretely, the performances of the Delwendé troupe and the subsequent discussions with the spectators made it possible to address, among other things, the advantages linked to inclusive breastfeeding, nutrition and mother/child vaccination. Useful provisions such as attendance at health centers and respecting the directives of health workers were also discussed in order to facilitate the application of the government measure, particularly universal health coverage. ‘Satisfied’ with the quality of the actors’ performance and the themes addressed, the spectator Abarata Zoungrana, hoped for ‘the multiplication of such awareness-raising actions with a view to further promoting and improving the health of mothers and children Burkina Faso.’ ‘I want to thank the theater troupe for the quality of its performance but also the organizers of this activity as well as their partner UNICEF, thanks to whom this was possible,’ noted, for his part, the president of the special delegation of the commune of Guiba, Tonsouré Gouba. In addition to the commune of Guiba, 30 other communes across Burkina Faso benefit from awareness-raising activities as part of the implementation of the ‘community monitoring for improving access of vulnerable groups to health services’ project. , indicated Nadine Diao.
